Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

| Job Description Summary |
The Associate Coach collaborates closely with the Head Coach to support Chapman University’s NCAA Division III football program by driving coordinator-level coaching, recruiting, student-athlete development, and fundraising. In addition to team-specific responsibilities, this multifaceted role manages administrative athletic operations—including equipment and game management—which requires a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, and travel). The successful candidate must maintain full compliance with all rules and regulations established by Chapman University, the SCIAC, and the NCAA. Full-time, 10-month position.

| Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant coaching experience with assigned sport(s).
- Technical expertise and knowledge of football coaching, training, and program management at the college level.
- Experienced leadership skills and effective interpersonal communicator, with the ability to work collaboratively with students and colleagues
- Proven ability to recruit, motivate, develop, and retain student-athletes consistent with institutional and NCAA Division III philosophies.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply, and maintain compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and policies.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and discretion, and take initiative on matters of significance.

| Desired Qualifications |
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Experience working with NCAA Division III and SCIAC environment, and familiarity with rules and regulations.
- Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy and to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Basic knowledge of recruiting and coaching techniques
