Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
Position Summary Information
| Job Description Summary |
Assist the head coach with comprehensive responsibilities associated with Chapman University’s Men’s Basketball Program. Duties include coaching, teaching, recruiting, fundraising and other duties as assigned in support of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Flexible schedule and some travel may be required. Successful candidate is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Chapman University, the SCIAC conference and NCAA. This position also has additional responsibilities within Chapman University Athletics regarding game management. All other duties as assigned

| Responsibilities |
Serve as the associate coach to the men’s basketball program
Provides support to assigned athletic teams and/or campus operations
Provides Ticketing support to University Events Operations Team
Perform other duties as assigned

| Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III and SCIAC compliance rules, with the ability to interpret and apply all relevant rules and regulations.
- Sensitivity to understand student-athletes challenges and needs.
- Commitment to the academic success of student-athletes and the ability to persuasively articulate the role of athletics in education.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
- Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people of diverse background

- Basic knowledge of recruiting and coaching techniques
