Job Description

The Associate Coach Women's Basketball serves as the second-in-command of the Women's Basketball program and supports the Head Coach in all aspects of program leadership, administration, recruiting, coaching, and student-athlete development. This position plays a key leadership role in implementing the program's philosophy, coordinating recruiting efforts, developing offensive and defensive strategies, mentoring coaching staff, and fostering a culture of competitive excellence, academic achievement, and student-athlete well-being. The Associate Coach assists in advancing a highly visible NCAA Division I program while ensuring compliance with all University, conference, and NCAA requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities

Evaluate, recruit, and develop student-athletes (35%)

  • Identify, evaluate, recruit develop, and retain highly qualified division one student-athletes.

  • Recruit student-athletes who demonstrate athletic ability, academic excellence, and character qualifies that will contribute to program success.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospects, high school coaches, and AAU coaches.

  • Organize and implement player development plans, strength and conditioning plans and off-season training programs.

  • Foster and develop relationships to retain current student-athletes.

Coaching and practice planning (35%)

  • Support the head coach in all aspects of coaching, practice planning, and game scouting.
