The Conference of New England (CNE) is accepting applications for the position of Associate Commissioner for Sport Governance & Championships. The CNE is an intercollegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA’s Division III. The Conference footprint consists of institutions located in the New England region.

Current member institutions include Curry College, Endicott College, Gordon College, Nichols College, Roger Williams University, Suffolk University, University of Hartford, University of New England, Wentworth Institute of Technology and Western New England University. Johnson & Wales University will be joining the CNE as a full member in 2025-26. The CNE crowns team and individual champions in 20 sports and will add women’s golf in 2025-26.

The Associate Commissioner for Sport Governance & Championships is a highly efficient and organized critical thinker who will serve in a leadership role and assist in all areas of conference operations with an emphasis on managing all aspects of championship administration and sports governance.

Sport Governance & Championships Responsibilities:

  • Provide the membership with guidance and interpretation of applicable regular season and Championship sport policies.

  • Maintain and distribute the Conference handbook while ensuring timely updates as decisions are vetted and finalized through the Conference governance process.

  • Oversee all sport committees while developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with sport chairs to create synergy between the conference office and each sport group.
