Position Function:
The Counseling and Sport Psychology (CSP) Department and Department of Sports Medicine and Performance are seeking a full-time Associate Director of CSP. This position provides a unique opportunity for a Sport Psychologist trained under a generalist model and who has an interest in psychological evaluations. The successful candidate will be responsible for: provision of psychoeducational and psychological evaluations; provision of general counseling & sport psychology services (evaluation, treatment, and education); assist with coordination and provision of consultation to coaches, athletic trainers, and other athletic department staff; and the potential to supervise pre-and-post doctoral interns. Additionally, the position is responsible for supporting implementation of philosophies, policies, and procedures of clinical and sport psychology service operations for student-athletes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D., Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology with 2-4 years in Emerging Adult Population. Competence and experience with intellectual (e.g., WAIS), personality (e.g., PAI, MMPI), and psychoeducational (e.g., WJ, WRAT) measures and evaluations; expertise in one or more of the following areas is also required: experience with stress management, substance abuse and alcohol education, eating disorders, crisis management, depression, anxiety, grief, identity development, learning disabilities and other psychological issues related to injury, rehabilitation and return to sport in competitive athletes.
Current independent licensure and/or licensure eligible in the State of Mississippi within 12-months of hire. Please review https://www.psychologyboard.ms.gov/for licensure information in Mississippi.
Licensure must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years’ post-doctoral experience providing mental health services to athletes or serving as a primary mental health provider/consultant to a sport organization.
• Experience providing evidence-based sport performance consultation to athletic teams.
• Advanced training in Sport Psychology, such as certification as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) as outlined by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) or equivalent experience.

• Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
• Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

• Hearing requirements: Heavy telephone and other forms of digital contact requires ability to hear and respond to telephone, text, video/web conferencing conversations.
