The Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations provides strategic leadership, financial oversight, and operational management for Florida A&M University Athletics. This role ensures the fiscal integrity of the department, supports long¿term financial planning, and oversees daily business functions in alignment with University, NCAA, and conference policies. The position serves as a key advisor to the Vice President/Director of Athletics and collaborates closely with coaches, administrators, campus partners, and external stakeholders.
Directs the development, monitoring, and reconciliation of the Athletics annual operating budget; Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and multi year budget modeling; Manage all revenue and expense activity, including procurement, travel, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliation processes; Ensure compliance with University, State of Florida, NCAA, and conference financial regulations; and prepare financial reports for internal leadership, auditors, and governing bodies.
Supervise daily business office operations, including purchasing, contracts, travel, and inventory control; Coordinate financial processes for ticketing, concessions, sponsorships, fundraising distributions, and game operations; Oversee reconciliation of revenue streams such as guarantees, conference distributions, licensing, and special events; and implement internal controls and operational efficiencies to strengthen fiscal accountability.
Ensure adherence to NCAA financial reporting requirements, including the annual Agreed Upon Procedures (AUP) audit; Maintain accurate financial documentation and supports audit preparation and responses; and partner with Compliance, Foundation, Procurement, and Finance offices to ensure alignment across all business functions.

Serve as a member of the Athletics senior leadership team; Provide guidance to coaches and staff on budget management, purchasing procedures, and financial best practices; Supervise business office personnel and fosters a culture of accuracy, transparency, and customer service; and collaborate with campus departments on financial planning, capital projects, and operational initiatives.
Support long range financial strategies to enhance departmental sustainability; Evaluate business processes and recommends improvements to strengthen operational effectiveness; and Assist in resource allocation decisions that support competitive success and student athlete welfare.
Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience.

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.
