Job Summary

The Associate Director of Ticket Sales and Operations reports to Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and leads all outbound ticket sales efforts for IU Indianapolis Athletics Department. This position helps to provide daily supervision of all ticketing operations and functions for athletics.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Helps with certain game day operation functions.
• Coordinates and leads all outbound ticket sales efforts (season, partial, renewals, group and individual) through a best practice approach.
• Assists with the daily management of the Box Office, as well as with game day management for the athletic, arena, and other events as assigned.
• Assists with invoicing and renewals for all ticketed sports.
• Assists to provide supervision of part-time ticket office employees with daily and gameday ticket operations.
• Manages certain game day operations.
• Works with Director of Operations to assist on game day operations.

General Responsibilities

• Complies fully with all NCAA, Big Ten (or other conference) and Indiana University rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
• Develops and manages the annual budget for the assigned sports program.
• Manages team travel, including itineraries, rooming lists, meal arrangements, practice times, authorizations, reimbursements, and air and bus transportation.
• Works with compliance staff on rules education, required compliance documentation, rules interpretations, and other compliance issues or requirements related to the assigned sports program.
• Collaborates with Sports Medicine, athletic training, and sport psychologist to advance player development.
• Manages external relations and community outreach activities including community service and engagement by team members and coaching staff. Seeks out, investigates, and develops team opportunities.
• Conducts a variety of human resource activities which may include, recruitment, selection, labor relations, training, and ensuring pay equity for functional area.
• Develops and implements new processes, standards, and policies that ensure adherences to departmental goals.
• May break down film and analyze data to prepare coaches as they study for game plans and strategy; works with coaches to evaluate practice and game performance; utilizes data to chart the tendencies of opposing team plays.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Additional Information

This work requires the position to be available outside of normal business hours and on some nights and weekends to assist events and promoters and finalize ticket situations.

This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the IU Indianapolis, Horizon League, and the NCAA.
