Apply NowThe Associate Director serves as the campus-wide liaison to other units/individuals to establish goals, develop policy, and participate in institutional planning surrounding student-athlete education and welfare, working closely with senior administrators across different schools, with directors of programs who integrate academic and curricular experiences, and with departments that provide direct and administrative student services. The Associate Director also assists with creating, revising, recommending, and implementing University policies, practices and procedures, and interpreting them for undergraduate students, faculty, and parents.
The Associate Director is responsible for managing three student-athlete academic coordinators who comprise the ARC’s student-athlete academic services unit. Collectively, these four positions are responsible for providing academic coordination for all of Georgetown’s athletic teams. Daily work routines demand the ability to adeptly interact with students possessing a wide variety of educational preparations and achievements and various social and economic backgrounds. This work necessitates that the Associate Director is highly organized, establishes priorities independently, works under time constraints, and is resolute. Further, the Associate Director must balance potentially inconsistent priorities regarding academic and athletic achievement in a highly competitive academic and athletic institution. The Associate Director will be expected to work individually with students in addition to other administrative and management responsibilities.

Work Interactions
The Associate Director is a member of a professional staff of 13 within the Academic Resource Center. The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director of the Academic Resource Center. In addition, the Associate Director works closely with the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations to ensure student-athlete compliance with NCAA expectations. The Associate Director is responsible for developing, implementing, delivering, and evaluating academic programs for 30 athletic teams. The Associate Director routinely interacts with senior administrators in the Athletic Department, across the different schools, the President’s and the Provost’s Office, and programs regarding student-athlete welfare, development and support. The Associate Director also represents the university to students, parents, alumni and other constituencies.
This position requires work occasional outside the scope of normal business hours and may require some travel.
Requirements and Qualifications
Master’s degree required.
Four to six years of professional experience in teaching, academic advising counseling, or career development in a higher education setting. The individual should also be experienced with culturally and academically diverse populations of students.
Other Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of University academic rules and regulations. Familiarity with undergraduate degree requirements for each school, ensuring timely graduation. Detailed knowledge and understanding of NCAA Compliance Rules and Regulations, including Big East and Patriot League Legislation, especially as they pertain to athletic eligibility and progress towards degree.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and problem solve.
Prescribes and practices ethical behavior.
Computer knowledge required by duties.

Pay Range:
The projectedsalary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$47,586.00 - $87,558.13
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
