Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director of Media Relations, the Associate Sports Information Director will assist with administering all media services for the Athletic Department. This position requires frequent travel, as well as evening and weekend hours.

Essential Functions

Serves as primary media contact for teams as assigned.

Assists with administering all media services for the Athletic Department, designing and editing media guides and game programs, coordinating interviews, producing press releases and game notes, and recording statistical information.

Manages media relations events and game-day activities.

Maintains and updates the athletic website to include scores, rosters, schedules, articles, press releases, statistics, and game notes.

Provides conference offices with required information for weekly releases and announcements.

Assists the Athletic Department in its communication and public relations initiatives with the Office of Public Affairs.

Assists with the preparation and editing of scripts and publications for the Athletic Department special events.

Attends home and away games for selected teams.

Complies with all NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations.

Additional Functions

Operates University-owned or leased vehicles to transport students, staff, and/or equipment in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and insurance requirements.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree.

Minimum of two years experience in sports information or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

High-level organizational skills.

Demonstrated commitment and motivation to building a successful program.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Valid Driver’s License.

Minimum Starting Salary

$80,000

Maximum Starting Salary

$92,000

Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
