Essential Functions
Summary: Under general supervision and with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment, is responsible for assisting in administration of all areas related to the success of a Division I Intercollegiate program.

Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the State where the applicant resides and must be insurable as defined in the UT System UTS 157, as applicable to the performance of essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruits, trains, and coaches members of the softball program.
Plans, manages, and evaluates all sport practice sessions.
Supervises academic progress of student-athletes.
Responsible for the scouting of opponents.
Assists in the scheduling of sports games.
Coordinates clinics, summer camps, volunteer activities, and fundraisers for the sport.
Active involvement in the El Paso community.
Develops strategy and bench coaching during athletic contests.
Assists with the daily operations of all administration facets of the sports program.
Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA Rules and Regulations including attendance of NCAA Rules Seminars, timely completion of all NCAA forms and requests for information.
Employee agrees to abide by the Code of Ethics as set forth by the University of Texas at El Paso and the University of Texas System.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
