The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.

Multifaceted position working primarily in graphic design and desktop publishing for sports information department as well as working with all other departments/sports within the NAAA for any and all graphic/design/publishing needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design high-quality graphics for digital marketing, social media, web layouts and print collateral, maintaining visual identity guidelines for brand consistency;
Work with the Assistant AD/Brand, Creative Design and Publications and Director of Social Media to create templates for and create graphics for various needs (game day, awards/honors, etc.);
Design posters and schedule magnets in consultation with sport coaches, sports information contacts and marketing associates;

Summary
Multifaceted position working primarily in graphic design and desktop publishing for sports information department as well as working with all other departments/sports within the NAAA for any and all graphic/design/publishing needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design high-quality graphics for digital marketing, social media, web layouts and print collateral, maintaining visual identity guidelines for brand consistency;
Work with the Assistant AD/Brand, Creative Design and Publications and Director of Social Media to create templates for and create graphics for various needs (game day, awards/honors, etc.);
Design posters and schedule magnets in consultation with sport coaches, sports information contacts and marketing associates;
In conjunction with the Assistant AD/Brand, Creative Design and Publications, design and manipulate templates for all video board slides for various sports (football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, etc.) and any special events, and work with NAAA Marketing/Promotions on creating slides as needed for home events;
Work with the Assistant AD/Brand, Creative Design and Publications on the creation of football game programs (Aug.-Nov.) as well as lacrosse yearbook (Dec./Jan.). This includes creation of Navy editorial pages and NAAA internal advertisements and proofreading all Navy pages before printing;
Partner with various departments and sports programs to take projects from concept to final production-ready files;
Assist in maintaining the NAAA Style Guide and assist in overseeing the proper usage of athletic department logos/marks and colors;
Serves as a staff member of a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) - sanctioned athletics program, and understands that NCAA rules and regulations must be followed and strictly adhered to. Maintains an understanding and awareness of applicable NCAA rules via annual compliance briefs to staff, the NCAA Manual, copies of which are maintained in the Compliance Office, regular compliance item e-mails generated by the Compliance Office, and the NCAA official website (ncaapublications.com – Div I Manual). Immediately notifies the Compliance Office if a potential violation of NCAA rules is observed. Understands that non-compliance with NCAA rules and regulations may be grounds for termination of employment;
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and direct supervisor.
Qualifications
Experience, Education, & Certification(s)
B.A. / B.S. degree required
Minimum two (2) years professional experience in graphic design and desktop publishing required, preferably in a college athletics department
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to work with others in creative aspects and to determine athletic department and sport program needs
Graphic Design / Extensive experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Desktop Publishing / Extensive experience with Adobe InDesign and Acrobat
Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience
Vast working knowledge of multiple sports and the ability to assist at sporting events in a multitude of areas (stat crew, scoreboard, game clock operation, etc.)
Ability and eagerness to learn all unfamiliar sports and to adapt within a college athletic department
Additional Eligibility Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the United States of America, without sponsorship.
Must be eligible to work on a military installation, including a willingness to submit to a background screen.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
