The Assistant Director of Strength & Performance will be responsible for implementing, designing, and monitoring sports specific programs for their assigned teams. This position will also assist in the administration of all aspects of athletic performance training for all other varsity programs. This includes coaching, student athlete mentoring, and ensuring that programs are compliant with
NCAA
, Conference and University rules and regulations. This individual will also assist with the promotion of the University of Nebraska Omaha athletics programs.
Job Duties
| Responsibility Area: | Actively training student-athletes of assigned primary teams |
| Duties: |
- Being active in the implementation of the athletic performance training programs for three to five assigned teams. This includes program design, monitoring, demonstrations, skill instruction, and the troubleshooting of movement. The Coach is responsible for working with student athletes on maintaining workout plans and adjusting as necessary to make sure the athlete is prepared to perform.
- Communicate and collaborate with sports coaches and support staff on assigned teams to meet the needs of the student-athlete.
- Assist with the rehabilitation of sports-related injuries to student-athletes.
- Development of recovery and wellness programs to support performance goals with staff in other team support areas.
- Assist the director of strength and performance in scheduling teams and monitoring the Sapp Fieldhouse and Baxter Athletic Performance Facilities.
