Job Description

Mercy University is looking for a knowledgeable and committed Assistant Women's Basketball Coach to join our athletics program on a part-time basis. This is a genuine opportunity to shape the development of student-athletes while contributing to a university that places people at the center of everything it does.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the Head Coach in planning and delivering practices, game-day preparation, and in-season player development
  • Assist with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, working closely with the Admissions and Recruitment team to identify and engage candidates who align with Mercy's academic and athletic standards
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and provide mentorship that supports success both on and off the court
  • Ensure all activities comply with NCAA and Northeast-10 Conference regulations

What You Bring

  • Collegiate playing or coaching experience in women's basketball
  • Working knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules and eligibility requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust with student-athletes from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong communication skills across in-person, digital, and recruitment settings
