Job Summary
The Athletic Academic Records Specialist, under general supervision, processes certification for student athletes in compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and applicable Conference rules and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reports eligible student athletes to ensure University compliance with NCAA and Conference academic rules and regulations. Maintains knowledge base of policies, procedures, and regulations related to NCAA certification guidelines.
Determines the academic eligibility of student athletes relative to admissions, the awarding of financial aid, practice, and participation in intercollegiate competition. Evaluates preliminary transfer credits for prospective transfer student athletes.
Monitors student athlete academic records and notifies coaches of mid-term grades. Ensures that students do not drop below required status.
Processes name, social security, and address changes.
Updates student records including posting College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Credit by Exam scores.
Certifies eligibility for nonvarsity club sports.
Assists with degree works/graduations.

Additional Responsibilities
Corresponds with academic departments and various University administrators concerning transfer equivalencies, student records, advising, and registration issues.
Receives and evaluate transcripts current students.
Responds to inquiries from other campus officials, students, and other institutions concerning transfer credit.
Recordkeeping of student athlete records for eligibility and reporting purposes.
Gathers data and prepares reports for the University Registrar and other University departments.
Resolves student concerns and issues in accordance with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
Assists in the preparation of procedure manuals and documentation of records system.
Assists with the general functions and activities of the Office of the University Registrar.
Minimum Requirements
Education – Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Experience – One year of related experience.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
University policies and procedures.
Business communications, spelling, punctuation, office procedures, and proofing skills.
Ability to:
Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Present information clearly and concisely.
Maintain confidentiality.

Salary: $16.04/hourly
