CLASSIFICATION: Exempt – Full Time
FUNCTION:
Serve as the Athletic Director and provide executive leadership and strategic direction for the College’s
athletics program. This role is a member of the President’s Executive Cabinet, working collaboratively with
other senior leaders to align athletic programs with the College’s mission, vision, and institutional priorities.
The Athletic Director ensures effective management of all athletic-related operations, personnel, compliance,
and student-athlete development within the Athletics Department.

The Athletic Director ensures effective management of all athletic-related operations, personnel, compliance,
and student-athlete development within the Athletics Department.
REPORTS TO: President
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but are not limited to):
• Provide leadership and oversight for all athletic programs, ensuring they support the College’s mission
and strategic goals.
• Collaborate with Cabinet members on institutional planning, resource allocation, and community
engagement.
• Coordinate with area Vice Presidents and Human Resources to hire qualified coaching staff.
• Coordinate with Human Resources to hire or contract a licensed Athletic Trainer.
• Designate or contract a qualified individual to manage Sports Information operations, ensuring all game
statistics are properly reported to the conference office.
• Ensure completion and submission of all compliance and eligibility forms to the conference office.
• Advise College leadership and personnel in planning programs and services for student-athletes and
athletic activities; coordinate master athletic calendars.
• Ensure the Athletics Department operates in compliance with conference and governing body
regulations.
• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of the athletic department website to ensure current
and accurate information.
• Monitor student-athlete eligibility in coordination with the Dean of Students, coaches, and academic
staff.
• Oversee athletic travel logistics, insurance claim processing, and concession operations.
• Develop and implement programs to support student-athlete recruitment, retention, academic success,
and well-being.
• Attend home athletic events as the game-day administrator or designate appropriate staff for game
administration.
• Serve as the primary liaison with community, state, and conference organizations related to athletics.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution (Master’s Degree preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in athletic administration, preferably at the collegiate level.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience supervising staff and managing budgets.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written).
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with students, staff, and external partners.
• Ability to foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and student-centered excellence.
