About Colorado College:
Colorado College (“CC”) is a private, four-year, highly selective liberal arts college of 2,100 undergraduate students and a small Master of Arts in teaching program. It is located on a 99-acre campus adjacent to downtown, ‘Olympic City’, Colorado Springs. The campus sits on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains at the foot of Pikes Peak. The college operates an innovative curricular approach, known as the Block Plan, which entails students taking one course at a time for three and a half weeks, with the academic year divided into eight “blocks.” The Colorado College Department of Athletics sponsors 17 varsity programs. Fifteen programs compete at the
NCAA
Division
III
level and two at the Division I level. Division
III
programs are members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (
SCAC
), with the exception of Men’s Lacrosse (independent) and Women’s Lacrosse (
WIAC
affiliate). Division I Men’s Hockey is a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (
NCHC
) and Division I Women’s Soccer competes as an affiliate member of the Mountain West Conference (
MWC
).

Minimum of $55,000 per year
The pay range reflects base pay for positions in a given pay band across the college. Individual rates are determined within the range by factors including one’s qualifications, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same band and department budget. With direction and approval from the head coach, order all apparel, gear, and equipment for the Division I teams on campus (hockey and women’s soccer).
Provide daily, pre-/post-game and off-season maintenance for gear and equipment. This involves cleaning and repair of all equipment, including but not limited to hockey uniforms, skates, sticks, and other equipment.
Assure proper fit and function of safety gear.
Maintain proper inventory at all times to assure safety of student athletes and provide reports of that information as requested.
Stay informed of the latest innovations and product updates in equipment and make recommendations regarding purchasing new equipment.
At the direction of the head coach, negotiate contracts with equipment manufacturers for game equipment, practice gear, clothing, and protective equipment; submit recommendations to the Director of Athletics for signature authority.
As needed, assist with the logistics for all Colorado College hockey team travel including, but not limited to, ground transportation, hotels, meals, and incidentals.
Serve as a liaison to all visiting teams on-site including equipment offload, storage, and serving as a local contact.
Ensure that all visiting teams understand the game protocols and have access to practice and competition sites.
Adhere to
NCAA
and institutional regulations.
Negotiate and supervise the work of independent equipment repair people as necessary.
Supervise, train, and provide work direction and problem-solving assistance for student workers.
Supervise volunteers, especially with the hockey program.
Assist the Director of Athletic Equipment Operations with other duties as assigned.

Associate’s degree plus a minimum of five years of related experience are required or a combination of education and applicable work experience Certification by the Athletic Equipment Manager Association will be required upon hire. Candidates will demonstrate knowledge of
OSHA
and
NCAA
regulations as well as proper equipment fitting procedures. Additional requirements include proficiency with computer software programs such as word processing and spreadsheets, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to think critically and solve problems, ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion, good and organizational and customer service skills, and ability to operate small hand tools, laundry equipment, sewing machines, ice skate sharpener, and rivet machine.
