Position Summary The Director of Athletic Marketing and Events will coordinate the marketing of all NSU Athletic events and help lead game operations, fan experience and donor relations within the department. This position will assist in revenue enhancement of the athletics program by identifying, cultivating, and soliciting sponsors for the athletics department. This position will be responsible for oversight and leadership of at least 1 Wolves Club Special Event each year and will assist with all other special events. Nature and Scope • The Director Athletic Marketing and Events will report to the AD or Deputy AD. • Develop comprehensive marketing plan to increase attendance at all NSU Athletic events including increasing student attendance at events. Consistently review national trends for attendance and bring new ideas to enhance promotion of all athletic events. • Foster relationships with key Offices on campus to improve overall student life experience on campus, including cross-promotional opportunities at various campus events. • Lead game operations of athletic events including game scripts, music, set-up, and guest and donor relations at events. Instruct all personnel on all relevant information throughout day of event. • Develop comprehensive plan and detailed organization for management of new media (e.g., videoboard) in Wachs Arena and future Dacotah Bank Stadium including oversight of Show Control software and implementation into flow of each athletic event. • Responsible for marketing revenue and new revenue generation including corporate partnerships – maintain active portfolio of sponsors that can be cultivated, solicited and stewarded. • Responsible for all game program sales including generating new partnerships. • Lead undergraduate interns for marketing and game operations including development of task lists and goals. • Responsible for developing strategies to increase season ticket sales including cold calling, and following up on leads and thinking creatively to increase season ticket sales. • Lead 1 major Wolves Club special event each year – either Wolves on the Water Fishing Tournament or Wachs Golf Classic. DocuSign Envelope ID: 4F0BE8B0-DBDB-4972-98A3-B613FA294278 • Lead and constantly engage in all relevant social media for Wolves Club and NSU Howling Wolves (student fan club). • Assist with NSU Athletics and Wolves Club Special events. • Lead all aspects of NSU student fan club: Howling Wolves including developing comprehensive rewards system and working with campus partners on real-time tracking. Secure reward prizes from various local partners to increase student attendance. All Athletics Department personnel are expected to become familiar with and comply with all departmental, university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Any university personnel who knowingly violate University, Athletics Department, or NCAA rules are subject to dismissal. Training and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Successful candidates will have 2 years experience in Athletic Marketing/Development (sports marketing, event management, or related fields), or equivalent experience in sales. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Excellent writing skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Adobe Suite preferred. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within intercollegiate athletics, the Foundation, and the University to increase revenue and the fan/student experience at all NSU Athletic events.
