Baldwin Wallace University invites applications for an Athletics Operations Coordinator in the department of Athletics and Recreation.   Under the direct supervision of the Director, the candidate will work with department coaches and staff to assist, oversee, coordinate, and direct the strategies, goals, and philosophy of the BW athletic department and recreation program. Will oversee a variety of administrative, fiscal and support staff activities. Assist with budget control along with coordinating and facilitating various meetings and special events. Will train and supervise other support staff and student workers. Will work with a variety of BW, OAC, NCAA and NIRSA administrative activities and collaborate across multiple campus and industry specific organizations to conduct the business of both the athletic and rec departments. Will conduct the office in a manner that supports and encourages both the university, athletic and recreation departments vision and mission statements.

• Manages day-to-day operations of Director’s office; coordinating office services such as record control, budget control and office workflow
• Assists in organization and coordination of meetings, schedules, facilities, and special events 
• Gathers and compiles information for reporting purposes that includes maintaining team rosters, compliance information and personnel data.
• Ability to deal with information that is extremely sensitive and confidential including but not limited to budgets, funding, contracts, payroll, ticketing, camps, employment, volunteers, travel, and purchasing
• Interprets policies, procedures, rules and regulations when dealing with local and national governing bodies that include the OAC and NCAA.
• Provides and/or oversees support activities/staff for the department such as answering phones, assisting and resolving problems and inquiries of visitors and vendors
• Handle additional department responsibilities, as assigned, in a responsible and professional manner
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and provide mutual support with all constituencies and colleagues.
• Represent the department and Baldwin Wallace University with sportsmanship, integrity, and a high degree of professionalism

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or 4 years of relevant administrative experience required.  Bachelors degree strongly preferred.
• Exceptionally organized with strong communications skills; thoughtful decision-making skills and the ability to perform duties in a “team” atmosphere 
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and remain calm under pressure
• Knowledge of NCAA, NIRSA, OAC and BW rules and guidelines strongly preferred.
• Ability to work with a variety of technology and database systems critical to the department
• Must pass background check and complete all University required risk management and compliance training programs.
• Strong ethical character and the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse environment 
• Must be able to work evening and weekends as needed. 
• Limited travel possibilities, and must maintain valid driver’s license and be able to secure and maintain University certification to drive University vehicles

Working Conditions: Atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Some exposure to unusual elements, heat, cold, loud noise, many people in a small area and carrying objects up to 25 lbs.  Some evening and weekend hours might be needed.  Expect to work with a large number of colleagues all with varying job-related deadlines.
