What we want
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, care, and treatment of injuries to athletes using necessary knowledge of injury patterns and modern principle of athletic training. Supervises and educates student athletic trainers. The successful candidate would also have athletic training department administrative responsibilities based on interest, skillset/experience, and departmental need.

Salary: Commensurate based on hire's experience.

Position details: Travel required with assigned sport. Ability to work flexible hours (nights, weekend and holidays) as required to complete assigned duties.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a specialized curriculum accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
One-year full-time experience or three years part-time, paid, or voluntary experience as a student trainer
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Must be certified by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association
Ability to sit for State of Texas License to practice Athletic Training
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Computer skills
Medical & First Aid skills
Joint taping and Physical Therapy skills
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
CPR Certification
Automatic External Defibrillator Certification
Responsibilities:
Treatment/Rehab - Evaluates, treats, and rehabilitates injuries of TAMU athletes. Tapes, places braces, and prepares student athletes for practice and games (events) of assigned sports.
Athlete Care - Attends and supervises, for safety preventive and emergency care, student athletes at practices and games (events) of assigned sports. Travels, as directed and required, with assigned teams.Coordinates with the Assistant Athletics Director of Sports Nutrition appropriate meals and supplements utilized by student athletes.Charts and performs record keeping of student athlete injuries, utilizing current record keeping systems and protocols.Coordinates and consulates with Physicians, student athletes, and medical facilities regarding health care.Consults with coaches and parents regarding student athlete health care.
