The primary functions of this position are to coordinator the prevention/treatment of athletic related injuries to student athletes including operating the college’s athletic training and rehabilitation facilities. Other functions include but are not limited to: injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of short-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries in consultation with and the direction of qualified Physicians.

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with Master’s degree preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, ETC:
First aid/CPR and other related certifications.
National Athletic Training Association (NATA) certification required.
Florida Driver’s License required.

The ability to work flexible hours, nights, evening, and weekends and work beyond the number of hours in regular work week. Ability to work outdoors as required by the nature of some sports. Ability to learn and implement first aid and CPR skills, weight training and conditioning programs as well as other related certifications. Ability to travel during the week, nights and weekends and possible stay extended days for state and national tournaments.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This individual must be reasonably good physical and mental condition. They must be able to demonstrate skills and techniques related to athletic training and must be able to endure the long stressful work weeks associated with athletics. Must be capable of driving to away games.
The ability to perform basic maintenance and operations skills i.e. setting up facilities for practices and games. This could include lifting up to 50 pounds manually or with an apparatus such as a dolly.
