Job Description

The Athletic Trainer is responsible for coordinating injury prevention programs and rehabilitation efforts for Park University Athletic department training room.

Position Accountabilities

  • Monitor athletic events and team practices; provide assessment and treatment to maintain maximum physical fitness for participants in athletic completion.   

  • Provide first aid techniques and triage as necessary. 

  • Develop and administer rehabilitation programs for athletes; recommend and implement routine and corrective exercises with modalities and recommend special diets for the development of healthy and reduction of athlete injuries. 

  • Coordinate the conditioning, treatment, and healthy status of athletes with coaches and physicians. 

  • Provide athletic injury evaluation, immediate care, and assist the referral of injured athletes in accordance with generally accepted principles of athletic training services. 

  • Assist in the supervision of graduate students and student assistants; train and develop staff in the athletic training room. 

Position Requirements:

  • Master’s degree required  

  • Certification as Athletic Trainer required (NATA)
