Responsibilities

 

The Athletic Trainer provides therapeutic care to individuals suffering injuries because of active lifestyle by utilizing modalities and therapeutic exercise upon referral to relieve pain, prevent disability, develop and improve skills and restore function. The athletic trainer will also help prepare patients and the environment for treatments and assist therapists in performing treatment under his/her supervision. This position generally requires providing service to adolescent, adult and older adult age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. This position requires the employee to accept flexible scheduling, within a biweekly pay period.

Education/Training/Experience: (indicate if required or preferred) Bachelor’s Degree, or entry level Master’s Degree. Completion of an athletic training educational program approved by the NATA. Licenses/Certifications: (indicate if required or preferred) ATC licensure required; BLS CPR required via AHA or ARC.

Conditions of Employment

 

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act,  including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check.  The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University.  If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
