Athletic Trainers coordinate and deliver medical care to intercollegiate student-athletes related to injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to play in an inclusive, collaborative, and integrated Center for Health and Wellness.
This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $47,675-$59,604.
Core Responsibilities:
Evaluates assigned athletes’ injuries, physical conditions, and needs
Recommends and executes scientific care plans to include schedule, treatment, and related education
Makes independent and appropriate decisions regarding therapeutic modality selection, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy application, and the enactment of emergency or life-saving protocols
Performs prevention measures including risk of injury assessment, ergonomic evaluation and coaching, self-care instruction and overall wellness promotion to reduce injury incidence
Refers to College Physician as appropriate and implements their instructions regarding injuries management
Completes timely documentation in the EHR according to best practices and Sports Medicine policies
Communicates professionally and effectively with student-athletes, Sports Medicine staff, graduate students, College Physician, Center for Health and Wellness staff, coaches, and campus partners
Provides site supervision and clinical/didactic instruction to graduate student athletic trainers as assigned

Requirements
Commitment to collaborate with cross-discipline colleagues to support positive health outcomes

Knowledge of the social, psychological, and physical developmental stages of college students
Training and certification in CPR, First Aid, and ACI in accordance with CAATE requirements
2 years of experience (graduate placements/internships may count toward this prerequisite)
Master’s degree in athletic training or other appropriate fieldCurrent, or eligible to obtain, national (NATA) and Vermont licensure as an Athletic Trainer with an active NPI number
Eligible to obtain the College driver’s license
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Must be able to work a flexible schedule with seasonal travel components and regularly scheduled work outside of business hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. May assist patients, as needed, on and off exam table. Some lifting of 10 gallon water jugs for practices and competitions.
