Scope of Position
Athletic Training is responsible for providing health care for athletes and physically active people of all abilities in a variety of settings. Settings include athletic training; physician services; physical therapy; sports performance; education and research; community outreach programs. The practice of Athletic Training encompasses the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. May have various job responsibilities including clinical, academic, research and community-based roles. The Athletic Trainer will work within their scope of practice as outlined by the Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board of the State of Ohio.
Position Summary
The Athletic Trainer works under the general supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine Outreach and direct supervision of Sports Medicine Outreach Manager and Physicians. The Athletic Trainer may serve OSUWMC in a variety of outreach or clinical duties including community education, event coverage, rehab clinic or physician clinic as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training and/or related health science field required. State of Ohio Athletic Trainer license and National Athletic Trainers' Association certification. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
