The Center for Recreational Sports is committed to promoting and developing healthy lifestyles, social interaction, leadership skills and sportsmanship by providing innovative recreational programs, services, facilities and employment opportunities that are outcomes based, comprehensive, inclusive and of the highest quality.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Club Sports and Intramurals, the Athletic Trainer will work in a clinical based coverage model, coordinating medical care and comprehensive athletic training services for RIT students participating in Club Sports. Duties include, but are not limited to: medical clearance, injury prevention, care of athletic injuries and rehabilitation. In consultation with the Associate Director of Club Sports and Intramurals, the club sport Athletic Trainer will coordinate all operational policies and procedures for the athletic training services offered to club sport student-athletes. Furthermore, this individual will schedule contracted per diem athletic trainers to cover all moderate to high-risk club sport home events. The incumbent will adhere to industry best practices and policies, possess and maintain NATA-BOC certification and possess or be eligible for New York state licensure. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of success. They should also have strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently.

Skills: - Ability to foster relations with internal staff, team physicians, and student-athletes. - Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately. - Effective interpersonal, written, and electronic communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible terms to diverse or multicultural groups. - Computer proficiency using software and enterprise systems appropriate for the complexities of the role and its functions. - Willingness to engage in learning opportunities regarding Deaf Culture and conversational American Sign Language (ASL).
