CLASSIFICATION: Other Part Time, Hourly, Graduate Assistant
REPORTS TO: Athletic Trainer
LOCATION: Grand Rapids, MI - Hansen Athletic Center
SUMMARY
The Athletic Training GA will provide part-time assistance to the overall Athletic Training function for the Cornerstone University athletic department. The core of Cornerstone University is defined and driven by its Christ-centered mission and Biblical confession.
COMPENSATION: 100% tuition benefit, not including fees and books, subject to financial aid guidelines. General stipend offered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide AT coverage for CU athletic events and practices as assigned
Provide appropriate First Aid and Injury Assessment
Provide and implement appropriate Rehabilitation protocols
Assist in maintaining an effective and efficient training room
Assist in filing and maintaining medical documentation
Assist in scheduling physician referrals
Assist in maintaining daily treatment logs
Maintain regular communication with all CU coaches
Maintain and stock team medical kit
All Cornerstone University employees will regularly interact with students in a variety of projects, activities, and settings. As such all employees are expected to serve as Christian leaders and mentors by effectively living a gospel-centered lifestyle, ministering and discipling through a biblical worldview.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
Maximum of 968 working hours, dependent on stipend.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required
Acceptance into a Cornerstone University Master’s Degree program
Previous experience, and certifications for Athletic Training
Demonstrated professional organizational and communication skills
Demonstrated capacity for personal leadership and conflict resolution
Proven capacity for self-motivation to meet deadlines and to thrive in high-pressure environments
Love for college athletics
