Bachelors degree in physical education or a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and one year of experience in athletic training or a related field. A master’s degree may be substituted for the required experience.

Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and National Athletic Trainers Association certification.

Job Description Summary

The University of South Alabama’s Athletics department is seeking to hire an Athletic Trainer I. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

| Essential Functions |
- Assists with team training and conditioning activities. - Operates a variety of athletic training room equipment; maintains a daily record of treatment. - Assists with the development of sports medicine program to include, injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student athletes. - Provides athletic training services for intercollegiate athletics. - Attends scheduled team practices and home events. - Assists with the coordination and scheduling of pre-participation physical examinations and medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete. - Responsible for training and supervision of student workers to include assigning duties and checking work. - Administers a variety of advanced athletic training rehabilitation. - Maintains daily records and documentation of injuries and treatment of athletes. - Regular and prompt attendance. - Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required. - Related duties as required. |
