- Responsible for overall health and well being of all student-athletes, with primary responsibility for mens soccer and mens tennis assigned teams subject to change. Â This includes the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of athletic injuries for student-athletes. Â Responsible for coordination of pre-season physical examination scheduling, preventative conditioning program development, injury and illness diagnosis, treatment/referral, rehabilitation and recommendation for return to play. Â Coordinate, schedule, and approve physician or other professional surgery or treatment. Â Maintain insurance documentation/purchase plans when appropriate, keep updated medical records and create and communicate injury reports to staff for assigned team.
- Responsible for assisting in the general daily operations of the Athletic Training Room. Â This includes conducting assigned office hours, team practice and game coverage. Â Position responsible for providing Athletic Training services at university sponsored sport camps and secondary coverage at home Men's and Women's Basketball games. Â Position manages third party pharmacy benefit program. Â
- Educate, advise and monitor student athletes on holistic wellness such as nutrition, sleep, mental well-being and lifestyle choices.Â
- Continue education and maintain licensure in the field of Athletic Training by participating in conferences and seminars and conducting research of new philosophies and protocols. Â Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA and HIPAA rules, policies and procedures pertaining to the sports medicine function of the department. Â Attend and participate in regular NCAA rules compliance meetings.
- Position responsible for purchasing insurance plans for student-athletes of assigned teams when necessary.

What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
- Three or more years relevant experience, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.Â
- National Athletic Trainers Association Certificate
- Licensed or eligible for Athletic Trainer licensing in Illinois
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certified (either American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- Mental Health First Aid or similar certification preferred
- Valid Drivers license
- Physical ability/strength in order to do rehabilitative manipulations/treatments that are required during student-athlete therapy.
- Occasionally required to drive student-athletes to appointments or when traveling for competition.
- Must be able to handle the physical rigors of team practice and competition with special consideration for the outdoor elements.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, concussion monitoring software, medical record and injury tracking software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment.
- Dedication to serving the department, the University and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative and integrity.
- Position requires working evening and weekend hours during school year, including all home contests for assigned teams and travel to away contests when necessary.
