Job Description:

The Athletic Trainer (Part-Time)is responsible for assisting the Head Athletic Trainer in coordination of the day-to-day components of the position ranges from providing the care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for all student-athletes to scheduling coverage for scheduled practices, home contests and selected away contests to overseeing, creating and tracking all student-athlete medical forms and insurance. All job components shall be completed with attention to the college, conference and NCAA Division III compliance, rules and regulations while supporting the leadership, direction and vision of the Vice President of Athletics and Recreation.

This is a part-time, per diem position reportingto the Head Athletic Trainer.

Position Duties:

• Provides onsite care and management of student-athletes' injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation.
• Provides coverage for athletics contests and practices, both at home and away, requiring travel, as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
• Communicates with physicians and coaching staff regarding the injury status of student-athletes.
• Maintains appropriate medical records, including pre-participation physicals, injury and rehabilitation documentation, outreach clearance forms, and insurance information.
• Assists in the daily maintenance of the athletic training room.
• Supervises interns and student staff.
• Position involves sitting, movement and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds in training situations.
• Frequent travel and early morning/evening/weekend/holiday work is required.
• Completes administrative and other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• 1-3 years' experience required (graduate assistantship experience will be considered).
• Certified by the National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification (BOC), required.
• Maintain Massachusetts state athletic training licensure, required.
• Meet criteria for certification as established in the National Athletic Training Association with respect to continuing education units (CEU'S), and First Aid CPR/AED certification, required, or willingness to obtain.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to foster an engaging, innovative, and collaborative workplace culture.
• Demonstrate skills in interacting effectively with students, staff, faculty, physicians, athletics personnel, families, and others.
