Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

The Temporary Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with the overall administration of the athletic training program. Primary responsibility will be supervision and management of athletic training services for assigned sports teams. Additional responsibilities will include injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation; maintaining accurate medical records, practice and game/event coverage, including travel. The selected candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with the head athletic trainer, team physicians, and coaches.Additional duties may be assigned. 10 month appointment. Work schedule vary based on sport assignment.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The Department of Sports Medicine at North Carolina A&T State University exists to provide student-athletes with an opportunity to participate in intercollegiate athletics in the safest and healthiest manner possible. Our staff of certified athletic trainers and team physicians are responsible for the wellness of approximately 350 student-athletes. The North Carolina A&T State University Sports Medicine staff commits itself to providing personalized, comprehensive, contemporary, and effective health care that focuses on the student-athlete.
