Athletic Training Aide Work-Study (3 Positions)
Apply NowWe are looking for an athletic training aide to support our Athletic Training Department staff. In this role, you will be assisting with athlete intake, preparing equipment and treatment areas, assisting with rehabilitation exercises, and assisting with stocking and inventory reporting. Those looking to continue education and career paths in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Chiropractic, and Medicine are strongly encouraged to apply.
Maintain current
COVID
protocols and procedures at all times.
Perform any task that will be required from the Head Athletic Trainer that relates to current position and job description. Any new tasks will be discussed prior to completion.
Prepare equipment and treatment area.
Launder and sanitizing equipment and therapy areas.
Launder towels and linens.
Replenish and restock supplies in treatment areas.
Expected to be a liaison between athletes and athletic trainers.
Assist athletes if needed to locations within the facility.
Under direct supervision of a licensed Athletic Trainer, assist in:
Performing basic treatments such as applying ice packs or heat pads as instructed.
Monitor and instruct patients on individual exercise programs and immediately report concerns.
Documenting patients’ responses to treatment and updating patients’ rehabilitation logs.
Taken courses related to Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Kinesiology, and/or Sports Medicine.
Current First Aid and Professional
CPR
Certifications.
Knowledge of the human anatomy and movement.
Ability to think critically.
Ability to be thorough and detailed in tracking athletes and their care.
Ability to communicate.
Must have the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks.
Ability to be discrete in handling confidential matters while complying with privacy regulations, e.g.
FERPA
,
HIPPA
etc.
Ability to adhere to and support University & departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to carry up to 80lbs
Ability to work in different weather conditions, extreme heat or cold.
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to work in the afternoon, nights, and weekends as per course schedule allows.
Ability to work in loud environments.
