Position Overview: This student will assist the Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in various tasks related to the operation of the college athletic training room (ATR), including athlete care, administrative duties, and event support. This position offers a great opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in athletic training or sports medicine to gain hands-on experience in a collegiate athletic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the ATC in providing care and preventive measures to student-athletes.
Help with the setup and breakdown of athletic training equipment and supplies for practices and games.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the athletic training room.
Assist with the inventory and restocking of athletic training supplies.
Support the ATC in conducting rehabilitation exercises and treatment protocols under supervision.
Record and manage athlete treatment logs and injury reports under the direction of the ATC.
Provide assistance during game days, including pre-game preparation and post-game care.
Assist in the implementation of health and wellness programs for student-athletes.
Requirements
Current enrollment as a student at the college that is approved for work-study/program through Financial Aid.
Interest in athletic training, sports medicine, or a related field.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Basic knowledge of sports and enthusiasm for college athletics.
Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on sports schedule.
Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR (certification preferred but not required).
