Graduate Assistant for Women’s Basketball

The University seeks a Graduate Assistant to serve in the role of a Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant on
the main campus. Graduate Assistant appointments are made in collaboration with the Vice President and Head
Women’s Basketball Coach. This position is 20 hours per week and is a full tuition benefit extending through
the duration of the student’s Master’s program. Stipends, textbooks, and computers are not provided as part of

Responsibilities for this position include:
This position will assist with the following activities:
• Practice Sessions;
o Help with planning of practice
o Present at all practices
• Game Days;
o Present for home and away games
o Planning meals, transportation & hotel arrangements
o Helping with game day strategies
o Traveling with JV team if necessary
• Assist with Player Skill & Development;
o Inidividual & Group Workouts
o Lifting, Conditioning & Recovery Sessions
• Recruiting future players for the program;
o Recruiting Calls & Visits
o Going to recruiting events & games
• Organizing Fundraising / Recruiting Events;
o Planning / Scheduling different events throughout the year
o Present & Working events
• Scout & Film
o Help with forming a scout for upcoming opponents
o Clip film for film sessions
Expectations for the successful candidate:
• Bachelor degree or equivalent;
• Acceptance into a MVNU Graduate program;
• College Basketball Playing experience preferred;
• Experience with Synergy & Hudl preferred;
• Evangelical Christian statement of faith, experience and mission fit;
• Excellent technology, face-to-face, and phone;
• Ability to compose clear, professional letters, emails, and announcements;
• Must be capable of sitting, walking or standing for long periods of time, frequent use of stairs, ability to
lift 25 pounds.
