| Job Summary / Basic Function |
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Reports directly to the Athletic Director and manages athletic operations, events, and facilities. The duties will include, but are not limited to, summer camp coordinator, event management, and work study coordinator. Work involves coordination and contact with other Universities, student organizations, and community groups in the completion of assigned duties.
Develops and implements policies and procedures with regard to athletic operations, facilities, and camps, and develops methods to ensure that all appropriate parties are informed.
Principal manager and contact for recruitment and scheduling related to inter- and intra-state organizations including, but not limited to, state athletic officials, high school athletic directors, local officials, community service organizations and civic groups.
Supervisor in charge of the athletic department’s maintenance employee, responsible for assigning workload, managing overtime and executing evaluations.
Leads workers and oversees work study and employees related to summer camps, clinics and tournaments.
Responsible for the recruitment, hiring and supervision of administrative coordinator graduate assistant positions.
Manager of the athletic departments work study, which averages 40-50 employees per year. Responsibilities include recruitment, hiring, supervision, and compliance with PASSHE, state and federal regulations related to student workers.
Oversees portions of general maintenance within the athletic department as needed, and coordinates with university grounds crews, electricians, custodians, and public safety for all home athletic events, summer camps, and special events.
Supervises/assists in the supervision of event support staff who run the clock, charge admission, collect tickets, perform setup and teardown and act as security at games.
Serves as building director and site manager for athletic events.
Serves as university liaison responsible to promote an environment of sportsmanship, professionalism, and respect at athletic events.
Responsible for the management of home athletic events, including facility preparation, organization of game officials and referees, planning and coordination of relevant internal groups, such as campus police, dining services, coaches and student workers. Director for high school playoff events related to facilities rental and usage. Provides leadership for ticket operations staff and sales and concessions.
Serves as summer camps director of operations responsible for the recruitment, development, promotion, planning and management of the athletic department’s numerous summer camps. Coordinates with Camps and Conferences for housing and dining assignments for campers. Acts as principal contact with facilities, scheduling, set up, tear down, and other camp needs.
Assist in compliance with contracts, serves as University liaison to promote and maintain a positive Edinboro experience for participants, parents, students, coaches and officials. Secures required background checks for all workers per athletic department requirements.
Responsible for the scheduling of events, site preparation and maintenance of athletics related aspects of Sox Harrison Stadium, McComb Fieldhouse, Mike Zafirovski Sports and Recreation Dome and all athletic fields. Provides direction and implements necessary procedures, such as lock down, in matters related to safety and security at athletic events. Directs and supervises all athletic department contractors and maintenance projects.
Serves as tournament director for all championships hosted by the Intercollegiate Athletics department, including bid preparation, budget, reservation of hotel rooms, staffing, and working with staff on needs for the event.
Assists in the recruitment, selection and professional development of the university coaching staff.
Serve as liaison between the various constituencies (on and off campus) of the Edinboro Athletic Department.
Assist in the planning of sport schedules and assist coordinating the securing of game officials for home contest.
Assist in the overall planning, policy making and development of the intercollegiate program.
Managers the practice schedules for all university athletic teams, as well as scheduling facility use as requested by other entities.
Serves as support person to the athletic director, assisting with general administrative responsibilities.
Assists in the overall fundraising of the athletic department including the enhancement of the department’s working relationship with the university’s office of institutional advancement.
Implements and caries out drug testing policies and procedures per athletic department requirements.
Assists in the implementation of the emergency action plan for athletic facilities.
Processes all work orders for coaches and staff.
Contributes to the updating and reorganization of athlete and staff handbooks.
Assists in the coordination of Athletic Hall of Fame, Scholar Athlete, and Scottie banquets.
Serves on various sports related and university committees.
Attends weekly administrative meetings and all athletic department meetings.
Serves as the department administrator in the absence of both the Director and Associate Directors of Athletics.
