University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good.
Athletics Advising Graduate Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to: mentoring student-athletes; assisting Athletics Academic Advisors with the support of student-athlete academic goals, and determining the educational support needs of student-athletes.
Qualifications
| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in athletics academic advising.
- Ability to plan, develop and conduct training for student athletes.
- Excellent verbal, written and technical communication skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft products.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the conference, and the NCAA.
