Position Summary
Athletics Advising Graduate Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to: mentoring student-athletes; assisting Athletics Academic Advisors with the support of student-athlete academic goals, and determining the educational support needs of student-athletes.
Essential Functions
- Assist athletics academic advisors and student-athletes with academic advising issues.
- Conduct weekly academic meetings with assigned student-athletes.
- Serve as a point of contact for information and academic referral service to student athletes.
- Create and maintain Athletics Academic social media platforms and newsletter.
- Conduct student workshops on student success skills.
- Assist in collecting data and preparing reports for athletics academic advisors in all aspects of academic support services.
- Assist in meetings with recruits as needed.
- Maintain the confidentiality of student records.
- Other duties as assigned by the director of advising and/or athletics academic advisors.
Qualifications

- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in athletics academic advising.
- Ability to plan, develop and conduct training for student athletes.
- Excellent verbal, written and technical communication skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft products.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the conference, and the NCAA.
