The position processes and reconciles financial, travel, procurement, payment, and related operational transactions; provides responsive service to coaches, staff, student-athletes, campus partners, and vendors, supports routine human resources functions; and maintains complete and accurate documentation in accordance with University, CSU, NCAA, conference, and department requirements. The position is responsible for documenting, tracking, and following up on day-to-day activities that promote fiscal accountability, operational efficiency, effective internal controls, and quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Operations, Travel, and Operational Support. Process and reconcile financial transactions, including ProCard and other credit card activity, invoices, payment requests, journal entries, deposits, reimbursements, and other daily Business Office transactions.
• Procurement, Contracts, and Vendor Operations. Serve as the Athletics departmental subject matter resource for CSUBuy by supporting users with requisitions, purchase orders, procurement procedures, and invoice processing in coordination with campus partners.
• General Administrative Support. Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to athletic programs, the Business Office, and department-wide initiatives.
• Business Procedures, Compliance, and Audit Support. Assist with ensuring that financial transactions and operational activities comply with NCAA, conference, University, Foundation, state, and Athletics policies and procedures.
• Systems, Subject Matter Expertise, and Process Coordination. Serve as a departmental resource for established Athletics Business Office processes, procedures, and related business systems.
• Communication, Collaboration, and Workplace Culture. Provide customer service and Business Office support to coaches, staff, student-athletes, campus departments, vendors, and external partners.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

• Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4,482 (Step #1) - $5,357 (Step #10) per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
  
• CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,482 (Step #1) - $6,530 (Step #20) per month.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of financial record-keeping methods, transaction processing, reconciliation, procurement, travel, and payment procedures. ability to interpret and apply established written rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and deadlines; recognize exceptions; and escalate matters requiring higher-level review, ability to work accurately with numbers, account codes, supporting documentation, electronic records, and financial or administrative systems, ability to organize and prioritize multiple recurring transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, strong written, verbal, customer service, and interpersonal communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively with a service-oriented approach and exercise sound judgment within established procedures. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to learn and appropriately use Concur Travel & Expense, CSUBuy, PeopleSoft, Teamworks, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software, ability to maintain confidentiality, safeguard University resources, and handle sensitive financial and personnel information, ability to guide and train others on established transaction and travel procedures, demonstrated inclusive behaviors and commitment to a respectful, safe, and healthy working and learning environment, and must maintain knowledge of and compliance with relevant NCAA and conference rules and report concerns or violations to the CSULB Athletics NCAA Compliance Officer.

Physical Summary
