The Athletics Compliance Coordinator will assist in providing executive leadership to the Department of Athletics at Park University Gilbert. The Athletics Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive NAIA Compliance program, serving as department liaison for academic monitoring and development, coordinating and supervising student staff, and day-to-day department administration.
Position Accountabilities
NAIA Eligibility/Compliance/Champions of Character
Management of student-athlete eligibility for 17 varsity & development sports, including but not limited to coordinate with the Registrar, Academic Services, Financial Aid, and the Faculty Athletics Representative in certifying NAIA eligibility each semester, completion of squad lists and eligibility checklists, and submissions to appropriate conference and/or NAIA offices through Eligibility Certification Portal.
Provide preliminary and ongoing evaluation of all prospective and current student-athletes to ensure they are meeting initial and continuing NAIA and California Pacific Conference eligibility requirements.
Monitor the eligibility/admission status of all designated incoming freshman and transfer student-athletes.
Student-Athlete Academic Monitoring/Development
Work in conjunction with Academic Support staff to generate and distribute weekly grade reports to coaches and Director of Athletics on academic progress, support, and tutoring services utilized by our student-athletes.
Work with coaches, tutors/mentors, and campus community to assist in making sure student-athletes have access to and are utilizing academic support services.
Generate semester GPA reports for all 17 teams at Park University Gilbert.
Student Employee Administration
Manage the hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and supervision of the Athletic Student Coordinators.
Provide supervision and staffing of athletic events and special events hosted by the Department.
Create policy and procedure manual for work-study students.
Athletic Department Administration
Collaborate with the Director of Athletics in strategic planning for the University and Department.
Coordinate day-to-day operations of the department including, but not limited to Internal Operations, Compliance, and External Relations.
Facilitate department staff onboarding and training.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred.
Demonstrated successful experience in playing and/or coaching at collegiate, university, or professional level.
Knowledge of NAIA and California Pacific Conference rules and regulations.
A proven record of integrity, high principles, and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student-athletes academically and athletically.
Have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Valid Driver’s License.
Must have the ability to achieve certification to drive for Park University.
