DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that all Athletics and University-related activities, associated with the department, operate in full compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Directs all aspects of the university’s compliance program to ensure compliance with NCAA, MEC, and university rules and regulations in the areas of staff certification, recruiting, financial aid, amateurism, awards and benefits, and CARA.
Assist in the coordination of the NCAA, EADA, and MEC reporting with the Associate AD and Director of Athletics.
Collects, Organizes, and submits Academic Performance Program (APR), NCAA Demographic report, and graduation rate as well as assisting in the coordinator of athletic academic certification.
Responsible for maintaining updated SSU Compliance Manual, Student-Athlete Handbook, and Athletic Department Operations Manual, all compliance forms, Teamworks, and Compliance Assistant (Cai) software programs.
Ensure that the department complies with Title IX, government, NCAA, and conference reporting requirements and reviews all data for accuracy.
Works closely with the Director of Athletics and Associate AD to detail strategic plans and goals, as well as appropriately monitor and report progress on the goals.
Serve as the primary liaison between the Athletics Department and other constituencies with compliance responsibilities, Registrar, Admissions and Financial Aid. Coordinate the processes for certification of initial, transfer and continuing eligibility and financial aid.
Develop and maintain quality relations with coaching staff and other athletic staff members by creating effective communication and processes.
Monitors the student-athletes NCAA, MEC, and SSU academic eligibility, performance, and class attendance but utilizing reports from faculty and the Registrar’s office and coordinates appropriate action moving forward.
Ensures compliance with NCAA rules and regulations governing the recruitment of student-athletes by providing guidance and/or policies to team coaching staffs.
Monitors all financial aid awarded to student-athletes with assistance from the financial aid office and oversees the National Letter of Intent program to include the development of all scholarship agreements and tracking NCAA individual and team grant-in-aid limits.
Assists and monitor the administration of scholarships, academic practice program, transfer notifications, tracers, initial eligibility of freshman and transfers, and continuing eligibility of all student-athletes.
Responsible for administering and monitoring all systems designed to ensure compliance with NCAA, MEC, and University rules and regulations (including but not limited to self-reporting, violation protocol, etc).
Leads efforts to correct or resolve any actions that result in noncompliance or present a risk to department operations and serves as initial contact and/or mediator in conduct-related concerns.
Responsible for developing and conducting training and education programs for the university staff and student-athletes regarding compliance with the NCAA, MEC, and the University rules and regulations.
Interprets NCAA rules and pursues waivers and appeals. Investigates and submits violations to the conference office and/or NCAA.
Serve on as chair for the campus NCAA Compliance Advisory Committee and other committees as directed by the Director of Athletics.
Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars to Remain current with all changes in NCAA, as well as changes to University and MEC rules and regulations, as applicable, regarding intercollegiate athletics, this includes the requirement for self-reporting any possible rule violations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
Two to three years of experience.
Must have NCAA experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work with others, organization, and financial knowledge
Working Conditions:
Must be willing to attend games, conferences, and meetings off-campus.
