The Compliance Coordinator will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Office and will help ensure that the College’s varsity sports are in compliance with the NCAA, Sunshine State Conference, and Rollins College.
Primary responsibilities include:
Ensure compliance with the NCAA and Sunshine State Conference bylaws.
Responsible for NCAA and SSC reports including but not limited to the NCAA grad rates report, NCAA Sports Sponsorship/Demographic report, and the NCAA academic tracking report.
Provide on-going rules education for student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff including Squad meetings and Coaches compliance education meetings.
Assist in the direction of all aspects of the NCAA Division II compliance program.
Work with the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance on a continual basis to review and monitor:
recruiting legislation,
official and unofficial visits,
tryout paperwork,
contacts and evaluations,
team roster info (including walk-ons),
full-time enrollment status,
declaration of playing seasons and preseason practice schedules,
countable athletically related activities (CARA),
recruiting contacts and evaluations,
transfer portal,
NLI signing dates and dead periods,
hardship waiver and extension legislation,
progress toward degree,
student athlete eligibility,
participation lists,
interpretative requests,
name, image, and likeness (NIL).
Collaborate with coaches and financial aid to create and issue NLI paperwork. Coordinate athletic scholarship renewals.
Process athletic grant-in-aid paperwork with Financial Aid and Sunshine State Conference
Assist with updating the student athlete handbook, the compliance handbook and compliance forms, booster club educational information, and submitting secondary violations
Track academic progress and create postseason academic reports (grade reports) each semester.
Assist with the submissions of NCAA waivers and appeals.
Serve as the liaison to the Financial Aid Office.
Participate on SSC Compliance calls and attend in-person meetings.
Attend NCAA Regional Rules Seminar annually.
Assist finance with the preparation of all year-end NCAA Financial Reports, EADA reporting, audits, and reports.
Be proficient and able to instruct others on the use of Compliance Assistant and FrontRush.
Respond to inquiries from prospective student-athletes and parents regarding athletic programs, NCAA eligibility requirements, practice and competition schedules, financial aid, etc.
Create and maintain queries for student-athlete eligibility certification and departmental reports.
This position works collaboratively with relevant constituent groups and individuals, including the faculty athletics representative, faculty, admissions, financial aid, student affairs and coaches to enhance the academic success of student-athletes. The compliance assistant may work with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee or Leadership Council.
Bachelor's degree.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Coaching and/or student-athlete experience.
Knowledge of College environment, departments, procedures, and policies.
Knowledge and practice of organizational time management skills.
Ability to use tact and good judgment in resolving work problems and dealing with the public, students and staff.
Demonstrated experience in fiscal management.
Knowledge and ability to efficiently operate associated computer software (Access, Word, Excel, Banner, Argos, FrontRush, and Compliance Assistant).
On-campus-based position working in a fast-paced and high-energy work environment.
Ability to work weekend hours.
Work may require some visual strain.
