DUTIES: Duties and responsibilities include supervising assigned personnel with program participants and supervising athletic programs and events. The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Organizes, conducts, and supervises youth and adult programs and events; conducts registration and assignment of individuals to athletic teams. Collects and processes registration fees for applicable programs. Assist with identifying needs of the community regarding sports programs and develops and implements new programs to satisfy those needs. Maintains and purchases equipment and supplies, including uniforms, athletic equipment and other related supplies. Supervises and assists with cleaning of parks and sanitizing of facility restrooms in compliance with departmental standards. Interacts with coaches, parents, volunteers, and program participants to provide information, answer questions, and resolve issues/complaints relating to the area of responsibility. Recruits and trains coaches for programs, and coordinates team assignments and league drafts. Hires, trains, and supervises sports officials, youth coaches, and seasonal staff. Organizes and conducts clinics, training sessions, and volunteer certification meetings. Must have ability to perform as a sports official/referee. Perform routine inspections of departmental equipment to ensure optimal functioning; schedules preventive maintenance and complex repairs as needed. Gathers and maintains data/information to support periodic and special reports documenting activities for the area of responsibility. Attends and conducts staff meetings to exchange information.

REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s Degree in Recreation or Public Administration (or related) preferred, with at least 2 years of progressive management experience, Facility Coordinator or Supervisor a similar sized division; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

SALARY: Pay Grade 114; $19.82/hr;
