Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Assists with preparations and operations for athletic events and the maintenance of athletic fields. Performs turf grass management and maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at athletics facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*:
1. Responsible for general maintenance of athletic fields, facilities and equipment
2. Performs mowing, edging, sodding, aerating, topdressing, and irrigation repairs and installation
3. Prepares and maintains athletic fields for NCAA Division 1 practice and competition
4. Assists in purchasing, preparing and delivering needed materials and equipment
5. Performs minor troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments
6. Reports mechanical malfunctions and major problems to appropriate parties
7. Assembles and disassembles athletic equipment for practices and competitions
8. Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work site
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
One (1) year of experience in grounds keeping, turf management, landscaping or lawn care business
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Turf management or Landscaping
ABILITIES
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of proper field maintenance procedures
Knowledge of proper repair and safety procedures
Knowledge of field equipment and maintenance
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
