SUMMARY: The Financial Aid Advisor II – Athletics, under general direction, serves as a subject matter expert for athletic scholarships, awarding and processing. Provides and promotes service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement. Counsels and corresponds with prospective, current and former students on matters pertaining to financial aid & scholarships while also providing students with accurate information regarding the application process, including federal, state, institutional funds and loan programs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: One (1) year of related experience in either financial aid or NCAA compliance. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of financial aid counseling, verification, rules, and regulations for federal, state, institutional, and NCAA compliance.
Ability to: Ability to multitask and work collaboratively with others. Ability to work independently.
Requires: Hybrid work option available, stipulations may apply. Some evenings, weekends, and travel. Ability to perform outreach duties as required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Experience in organizing, planning, or in higher education is preferred. Bilingual preferred. Thorough and working knowledge of federal, state, and Texas A&M University-Commerce laws, regulations, practices, and procedures about student financial aid is a plus. Experience with all Department of Education delivery systems. Thorough and working knowledge of BANNER.
