Job Description

Gardner-Webb University invites applications for the Graduate Intern for Compliance position within the department of Athletics.

Position Description: The Graduate Intern for Compliance will develop an understanding of NCAA Division I legislation, Big South Conference and Gardner-Webb University policies and procedures as they pertain to the GWU Athletic Department.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a focus on customer service.The position is designed to provide the candidate with hands-on experience working with NCAA Bylaws and processes in an environment that is conducive to immersion in the day-to-day workings of a Division I compliance office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain 40 office hours per week (evening and weekend responsibilities required).
  • Attend NCAA compliance rules education sessions and present on topics as requested.
  • Research NCAA information regarding interpretations and file documents accordingly.
  • Compliance Software maintenance (i.e., student-athlete forms, coaching activities, coding, ARMs maintenance)
  • Facilitate pass gate, which will require availability for all home football and men’s and women's basketball games.
  • Assist in the creation of content for social media and other projects; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
