Under general supervision of Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, coordinates the insurance claims process associated with athletic injuries occurring within the athletic department. Assists the athletic training department in maintaining HIPAA and FERPA compliance. Provides administrative assistant responsibilities related to the day-to-day operation of the Athletic Training Department. This is a part-time position.
Serve as coordinator and liaison between insurance carrier, medical provider and student athlete in regard to athletic related injuries, claims, and billing statements. Partner with Student Health Services to ensure compliance with University insurance policies and procedures, communicate student athlete insurance requirements, and verify and maintain insurance information for all student athletes Assist in the coordination of scheduling all student-athletes for physical examinations, medical referrals, and physical therapy treatment sessions. Organize and file injury reports and rehab protocols, rehabilitation protocols, and student-athletes medical records. Assist with the compilation, input, organization, and maintenance of all medical records of student-athletes and share in the responsibility of maintaining and organizing the online athletic training facility filing system. Review and approve insurance claims and medical bills associated with a student-athletes’ sport injury.
