Job Description:

Athletics Manager of International Relations

The Athletics Manager of International Relations at LSUA will be responsible for the overall development and management of international student athletes and operations, reporting directly to Director of Athletics and working closely with the International Student Program Coordinator.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with the enrollment of international students into LSUA.
• Guides international students upon arrival at LSUA to make sure students are prepared with housing, advising, locating classes & other important information.
• Coordinating and setting up orientations for international student-athletes.
• Organizing and managing events that are tailored for International Students in order to spread diversity throughout campus.
• Host cultural diversity workshops on campus and within the athletic department
• Function as a point of reference for all international students through out their time at LSUA
• Advise international students that have questions or concerns regarding F-1 Visas and opportunities for Optional Practical Training (OPT) following graduation
• Hires, trains and manages staff of, interns, student workers and other event staff.
• Coordinates and oversees all game and special event management.
• Provides guidance on the development of intercollegiate scheduling, related practice schedules and personnel necessary to support these functions
• Coordinates, directs and supervises all aspects of home game and special event management to include: concessions, event/game staff, game officials, visiting team coordination, traffic management, parking, gate/entry control, crowd control, etc.
• Ensures a positive game environment and atmosphere, along with pre-game, half-time, timeout coordination and preparation of game protocol/countdown information.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends and to travel, as needed, for team practices, competition.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the assistant athletic director and director of athletics.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in International Business
• Experience supporting students with F-1 Academic Student Visas
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels and with a diverse body of student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff.
• Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, rules and regulations, etc.
• Knowledge and skill in using integrated software systems and Microsoft applications.
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to take initiative and to be flexible, sometimes under pressure situations.
