About This Role:
LU Athletics is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the Graduate Assistant position for
Digital Marketing & Social Media
. This position reports to the Assistant A.D. for Marketing and Creative Services. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing digital strategy to promote LU Athletics, helping to manage social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), assisting with content creation, producing graphics and videos. Content will also be used on the department’s official website, and official app.
Roles
Create, plan and execute marketing and promotional plans to increase attendance at the athletic home events from students, faculty/staff, and external constituents for all Division I athletic teams
Help manage LU Athletics’ department and assigned sport social media accounts
Serve as main point of contact for assigned sports and events
Assist in managing day-to-day office responsibilities as assigned
Traveling with teams as appropriate
Assist with digital marketing campaigns related to email, social media, and digital advertising
Coordinate and implement social media programs with the external team
Assist with oversight and management of Athletics Creative Student Interns
Assist in photo studio management, scheduling, photography, videography, and editing.

Full Graduate School Tuition Scholarship
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Visual Arts,
Enrollment in Lamar University Graduate Studies Program
Demonstrate strong interest and passion for Lamar Athletics
Some heavy lifting involved
Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills required
Must be available to work evenings and weekends
1+ years’ experience in photography, video or graphic design.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years’ experience in intercollegiate athletics
2+ years’ experience in the Adobe Creative Suite
1+ years’ experience in athletics social media management
Some lifting required.
