Job Description:

The Athletics Ticketing, Sales & Creative Intern will assist the Athletics Ticket Manager and Ticketing & Group Sales Coordinator with increasing the overall visibility of Brown University Athletics through ticket sales efforts. This position will assist with day-to-day and game-day ticket operations at ticketed varsity athletic events.

Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 38 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in game day preparation and execution for Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, Men’s Hockey, Women's Hockey, Men’s Lacrosse and Women’s Lacrosse.
Develop ticket sales strategies to maximize attendance and revenue for ticketed sports
Develop content to align with and promote sales initiatives
Develop/maintain relationships with various local Youth Organizations and schools.
Provide friendly customer service at games and other Brown Athletic events.
Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours

· Must be willing to work some nights and weekends.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. One to two years of relevant experience in ticketing, sales, marketing, promotions, customer service, event operations, or a related area preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
Some prior experience in ticket sales/operations, marketing, promotions, preferred.
Ability to accurately handle financial transactions and basic reconciliations.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral communication and computer skills needed.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and ability/willingness to learn new systems as required.
Prior online ticket system experience preferred.
Strong customer relation skills.
The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a criminal background and education check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.
