Baseball Graduate Assistant

Position Overview: The graduate assistant coach will be involved with the day-to-day administration of a Division II baseball program and must attend all sport-related activities as required. The graduate assistant coach must be enrolled in an approved graduate program at Concordia University, St. Paul, and must be making satisfactory progress toward that degree. The graduate assistant coach will support the mission and values of CSP and serve as a mentor and role model to student athletes.

Essential Duties:

• Program administration: Attending and participating in staff meetings (compliance, practice planning, academic, strength & conditioning, individuals), assisting with travel arrangements for competition, managing players’ equipment needs; other administrative duties as assigned.
• Technical instruction: Attend all practices and competition, filming of drills and individual sessions when necessary, maintaining statistics when needed, preparation and editing of film and scouting reports.
• Fundraising: organize and participate in fundraising activities as assigned.
• Recruiting: Managing recruiting database, correspondence with prospective student-athletes; meeting with recruits and families when needed; talent evaluation of prospective student-athletes, managing social media presence.
• Abide by NCAA, NSIC, and CSP rules and regulations and pass NCAA recruiting exam on annual basis.
• Other sport-specific duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree: Required
• Master’s Degree: Admitted into CSP Graduate program
• Certification or Licensure: American Red Cross CPR Certification

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to work on a team and in a fast-paced environment

Additional Demands: Position requires long hours standing and minor lifting; may require travel spent mostly on busses
Exceptions: May require exposure to adverse weather conditions, frequently involves night and weekend hours
