The Box Office Manager oversees all aspects of ticketing operations for various events within the Athletics Department and the Houston Field House. The manager is responsible for managing ticket sales and customer service to ensure efficient and successful ticketing processes. In addition, with the guidance from the Director, Ticket and Revenue Generation, the manager assists in generating revenue through ticket sales, cultivating season ticket holders and enhancing relationships with existing sponsors.
Associate’s degree in a related field
Three years of related experience related to customer service, cash and payment handling, reconciliations, and relationship building.
Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.
Experience with box office operations and/or ticketing systems
Ability to read and interpret event seating charts
Ability to operate a computerized ticketing system
Ability to work weekends and evenings
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Requires excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills.
Ability to compose routine correspondence and reports
Ability to prioritize work
Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
Ability to work in fast paced environment
Strong attention to detail
Non Standard Shift: Hours for this position are built around campus athletic events, which often take place during evenings and weekends.
Expected hiring amount:
$55,500 per year

The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
