POSITION SUMMARY : The Graduate Assistant will assist in the oversight all athletic communications and media relations operations of the athletic department including game-day press box and scorer’s table operations, development and dissemination of athletic-related press releases and stories, maintain the department website, development of game day programs, develop and compile all statistical data, and work in collaboration with other internal and external constituent groups in the promotion of Bruins Athletics.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Marketing in running day-to-day operations of the Bob Jones University Athletic Communications Office, including the direct supervision and leadership of student staff.
· Manage all game-day operations related to media requests, press box and scorer’s table, online streaming, assignments, and operations.

· Oversee and manage athletic website and new media.
· Manage all aspects of athletic communications content for accuracy to the public.
· Work collaboratively with the University’s Public Affairs Office and Alumni Office on all athletic-related news stories and events.
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
· Computer Experience (Macintosh and/or PC), Spreadsheet/Database Applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Access, FileMaker), Word Processing Applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Word Perfect), outstanding proficiency in desktop publishing software, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
· Strong written and oral communications skills, organizing skills, editing ability and knowledge of AP style.
· Experience in various stat systems (StatCrew, Presto, Genius, etc.)
· Experience with website maintenance and back-end updating.
· Knowledge and experience with online streaming and video systems.
· Knowledge and working experience with social and new media.
· Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences.
· Ability to create content designed to build brand and drive online engagement OR any combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree; Must be enrolled in post-graduate studies at BJU
